Academic Program Specialist (Finance)



Organizational Unit:
The Department of Molecular Biosciences is home to approximately 24 full-time faculty, over 70 graduate students, and offers courses to approximately 1,200 undergraduate students. The department pursues excellence in the following programmatic research areas: Genome Integrity, Bacterial Pathogenesis, Molecular Biophysics and Systems Biology, Biomedical Sciences and STEM Ed. We offer two Bachelor of Science degree programs, two Non-Thesis Master of Science programs, two Thesis Master of Science programs and two doctoral programs.

Position Summary:
Primary staff support for the Undergraduate Program in the Molecular Biosciences Department, consisting of approximately 12000 students working on their Bachelor's degree.

Schedule:
This position is on-campus and will be eligible for a hybrid schedule after completion of a 6-month probationary period and supervisor approval.Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with four years of experience in office or administrative positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in office administration and/or higher education administration
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as an interest in proactively contributing to the success of the department.

  • Processes course schedule, maintains current course inventory, assists with new course proposals, updates course catalog, coordinates textbook orders & resolves orders with USF bookstore & obtains desk copies, assigns faculty efforts, coordinates and processes cross listing courses, monitors enrollment level, orders audio visual equipment, enters information into Banner/Oasis student database system, maintains syllabi files, prepares and maintains enrollment comparison reports each semester, liaison with Space Office and attends Mass Lecture Room meetings, distributes and maintains final grade sheets & prepares change of grade forms

  • Prepares and disseminates course evaluations, assists with annual faculty reviews, assists Faculty with Tenure and Promotions materials, manages assigned faculty duties, and faculty academic reporting - AFD-FAR System

  • Processes course permits, backup determines program requirements and prerequisites
  • \n
  • Performs other office-related duties as needed
