Dock Specialist, Full Time, First Shift, AFSCME

UC Health is hiring a full-time Dock Specialist, for the central service department for the first shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Under general supervision, employee picks hospital related orders for daily delivery to UC Health facilities as well as completes point of use stocking and central service activities at site based locations.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Must be able to lift 70 pounds. Good math skills and attention to detail. Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Picks orders for daily delivery to UC Health requesters and performs fundamental inventory management tasks including stock rotation, expired product checks, inventory restocking, and utilizes MMIS for tracking inventory where applicable.
  • Performs Central Service functions (linen distribution, equipment decontamination/distribution, fulfill customer requests) as needed.
  • Labels all orders with the correct "ship to" information.
  • Stages all orders in the correct "ship out" location.
  • Adheres to the standard skid mapping requirements and delivery/stocking schedules established by management.
  • Logs all orders on Master Pick Log and signs off each pick sheet.
  • Makes copies of orders to file on site, and send to requester.
  • Reports any stock outs or mis-picks to supervisor/manager for immediate resolution before reaching customer.
  • Completes daily 5S standard work and assists in cleaning the work environment to maintain safe and efficient conditions.
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned by management.
