Head Buyer (Finance)
Resort Services manages all retail, rental, events, partnerships, storage and uniform operations for Taos Ski Valley, Inc. This includes Taos Sports Retail and Rental, Confluence, Kachina Sports Retail and Rental, Eis Haus Ice Skating, Seasonal and Daily Lockers, Lost & Found, Special Events Promotions, Partnership Marketing, Warehouse Shipping/Receiving/Storage, and all Resort Uniform needs. Resort Services assures all these operations are performed safely, efficiently, and profitably with an unconditionally excellent guest experience.
The Resort Services Head Buyer manages the ordering, procurement, receiving, storing, controlling/reporting and distribution of merchandise and supplies for all Resort Services operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Manage product research, ordering, procurement, receiving, storing, controlling, reporting and distribution of merchandise and supplies for all Resort Services operations. All products and supplies, from concept to guest. Assist with retail concept, design, development, and analysis. Directly manage buying, receiving and distribution staff. Manage all of Taos Ski Valley, Incs numerous departments unique uniform needs. Lead teams from all departments for receiving, counting, storing, and distribution projects. Work closely with, and in place of when needed, retail department Managers to assure the best mix of product is represented, staff are supervised, trained, and supported, and each guest finds exactly what they need and receive an unconditionally excellent experience. Attend trade and buying shows. Negotiate best terms and conditions for all purchases. Meet or exceed supplier order and payment deadlines. Report regularly and as needed to Senior management.Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Knowledge:
6 years retail or related buying or supervisory experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Retail point-of-sale and inventory management software experience requiredAccesso Siriusware systems experience preferred.Comprehensive understanding of retail math.Ability to review financial information for accuracy and identify problem areas.Ability to prioritize and perform multiple functions simultaneously in a high-pressure environment and on strict deadlines.Demonstrates experience appropriately handling differences, both internally and/or with guests.Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.
Work Environment:
Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holidays and Peak days. TSVI is in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.
Physical Demands of Position Include:
50-75% of time spent sitting at a computer or POS. 10-15% of time spent standing/walking. 10-25% of time spent moving objects - often lifting 10-25lbs, rarely up to 50lbs, and using a dolly.
Background Check:
Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
