Sr Consultant, Transfer Agency (Finance)

Data Governance & Onboarding

Responsible for company and fund setup and maintenance, and ensuring accuracy, tight control and oversight of all client parameters and processes. Responsible for various functions related to onboarding new clients, products, and funds to FIS TA including review of client requirements and legals, corresponding system setup, testing and validation, playbook development and execution, and post-project support. Responsible for management of fund closures, scheduling and execution of system events including dividend and capital gain payments, holiday calendars; and year-end processing. Responsible for understanding all team functions in detail and acting in a "hands on" capacity, development of training materials and process documentation, and identifying process improvements by leveraging available technology and tools.

  • Establish new companies for both new and existing clients on FIS TA and NT systems.
  • Establish new funds and classes for both new and existing clients on FIS TA and NT systems.
  • Research and update company/fund rules for clients as needed.
  • Establish new funds and adjust parameters for existing funds in OLA and Funds AUM portals for clients.
  • Maintain company and fund holiday calendars.
  • Schedule and maintain monthly and periodic dividend events.
  • Establish print services for clients as needed.
  • Work with BPA Team to create, maintain and execute playbooks for large change events, early market close events, corporate actions, and year-end processing.
  • QC, test and validate system rules
  • Ensure systems processes and procedures are documented, properly stored and archived, and kept up to date with system changes and enhancements.
  • Manage and execute client launches, conversions and closures
  • Develop understanding of client products and business model.to ensure system setup aligns with all client requirements
  • Prioritize and execute client and business requests in accordance with instructions and established departmental protocols on a timely basis.
  • Enhance and continuously improve departmental processes and documentation
  • Act as liaison with internal teams on complex client projects
  • Drive improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity

Major Duties :

  • Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function
  • As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level
  • Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult
  • Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities
  • Conducts preliminary analysis
  • Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management
  • Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas

Required Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Transfer Agency experience preferred including conversions, product launches and general operational knowledge.
  • Technical and functional knowledge of U.S. mutual funds industry, products and services
  • Strong Business analysis skills
  • Ability to review prospectuses, and determine proper system rule setup
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, and development / execution of macros
  • Understanding of report writing / generation tools such as Business Objects required
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work under pressure
  • Must be highly flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

Experience

  • Seasoned professional with a College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.

Salary Range:
$74,700 - 126,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
