Pay: Starting at $15.00/hr Training (pay moves to "Piece Rate" after training at $16.50/hr at 100% productivity)
Position Summary:
Nationwide Uniform (by Fechheimer) in Hodgenville, KY, is seeking a Spreader in their Cutting Operations. The Spreader is responsible for accurately laying out fabric materials in preparation for cutting operations. This role ensures proper alignment, tension, and layering of fabric according to production specifications. The Spreader plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards and supporting efficient garment manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will be required to...
- Spread fabric manually or using automated equipment according to markers and specifications.
- Inspect fabric for defects and report any irregularities to supervisors.
- Ensure proper alignment, tension, and layering of fabric rolls.
- Maintain clean and organized work area to prevent contamination or errors.
- Assist with loading and unloading fabric rolls and supplies.
- Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with cutting and production teams to meet daily output goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Basic understanding of fabric types and handling techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Demonstrates patience and perseverance when handling repetitive tasks.
- Determined to maintain quality and meet production goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in fabric spreading or material handling is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Positional: Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Gross Mobility: Lifting, pulling, and pushing fabric rolls.
- Sensory: Visual inspection of fabric and verbal communication with team members.
