Get to Know This Role
The Senior Manager, Technical Operations is responsible for leading all teams supporting electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plant utilities, and maintenance at our state-of-the-art packaging brewery in Chico. This role ensures the reliability and uptime of critical equipment and infrastructure across the brewery, enabling the consistent production of our world-class beers to the highest quality standards. The Senior Manager builds and supports a high-performing, engaged team rooted in our core Company Values: Quality, Integrity, People, Sustainability, and Community. What You Will Do
  • Responsible for leadership and management of the Maintenance Department
  • Continuously support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all equipment
  • Responsible for preparation and management of responsible departmental budgets
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, quality, and safety standards related to the department
  • Manage the development of team members through training and coaching
  • Work with Management Team to contribute to long-term strategic planning
  • Serve as point person for contract services associated with brewery utilities (e.g. glycol chillers, air compressors)
  • Ensure proper execution of contracted maintenance work to include R&M and Capital Expenditure projects
  • Accountable for equipment reliability and ownership of the entire maintenance process; provide guidance and oversee troubleshooting of equipment issues
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for planning, scheduling, and budgeting maintenance activities, labor use, and performance metrics
  • Supports Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety initiatives
  • Oversee the development and management of an effective spare parts inventory
  • Collaborate with internal customers throughout the brewery to ensure that stakeholders needs and priorities are being met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
     
  • (Chico, CA requirement only) This role is responsible for production and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System as defined in the SQF Code. There will be Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and Food Security Training as required by Local, State, Federal and SNBC policies. All duties will be completed in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of Company Safety Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Employees shall report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Please Apply if You Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering required or any combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
  • 7 years Relevant technical experience, preferably in the brewing or beverage industry required and
  • 5 years Previous experience supervising, leading and developing staff required and
  • Strong background in electrical systems such as controls, automation, VFDs, PLCs required and
  • Strong background in mechanical systems such as welding, part fabrication, fluid transfer, pneumatics and plumbing preferred and
  • Practical experience with high-speed bottling/packaging operations in food/beverage industries preferred and
  • Experience with lock out/tag out procedures required and
  • Familiarity with refrigeration and HVAC systems, boilers and steam principles
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations (e.g. NFPA 70E) and proper safety procedures
  • Knowledge in brewery processes and terminology
  • Competent with root cause analysis (RCA) and elimination for equipment failures
  • Ability to work with outside contractors and obtain quotes
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and food handling fundamentals
  • Proficient in computer software such as the MS Office suite, and CMMS
  • Ability to safely and competently work on and around potentially hazardous equipment, machinery and systems
