Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our VALOR Lab team at Viavi Solutions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting data analysis for various test projects within our state-of-the-art testing facility. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data is captured, processed, and analyzed to meet project goals and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Collection & Processing:
  • Assist in gathering and organizing test data from various sources, including test equipment, databases, automation tool (VAMOS) and team members.
  • Cleanse, validate, and preprocess raw data to ensure accuracy and consistency for analysis.
• Data Analysis:
  • Perform basic statistical analysis to extract insights and trends from test data.
  • Work with large datasets, conducting preliminary data exploration and reporting on key findings.
• Reporting & Visualization:
  • Create clear and concise reports, graphs, and visualizations to communicate data insights to internal teams.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of dashboards to track key performance metrics for testing.
• Collaboration & Support:
  • Collaborate with engineers and test teams across different locations (US & UK) to understand the data requirements and ensure proper data collection and analysis procedures.
  • Provide support in the analysis of test results and assist with any data-related inquiries during lab operations.
• Documentation & Process Improvement:
  • Document data analysis procedures and results for future reference.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection, storage, and analysis processes.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
  • Basic experience with data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Python, or R.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Analytical Thinking:
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from complex datasets.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy in data handling.
• Communication:
  • Ability to present data findings in a clear and concise manner, both in written and verbal formats.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Desirable:
  • Familiarity with network performance analysis, telecom systems, or testing environments (specifically related to O-RAN or 5G technologies) is a plus.
