Field Operations and Maintenance Tech - Flood Commission (Finance)

Job Description
PURPOSE SUMMARY. Performs field inspections to identify deficiencies in flood control infrastructure and conducts routine maintenance using Flood Commission equipment. Ensures proper facility operation while maintaining structural integrity and functionality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES.
1. Perform routine inspection and maintenance on Flood Commission dams and structures.
2. Assist with installation and site maintenance associated with flood warning system infrastructure.
3. Attend and participate in on-site training to stay informed on proper department policy and procedure for operations and maintenance of structures.
4. Treat Flood control structure embankments and side slopes to protect as needed.
5. Read, interpret and follow construction plans, staking and markings.
6. Assist in the operation of the robotic conduit camera.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS.
A. Education. High school diploma or equivalent.
B. Experience. Two years of full-time experience in general construction maintenance, including operation of light and medium equipment.
C. Education/Experience substitution. In accordance with County Policy.
D. Licenses/Certifications. Must obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A within 12 months of hire. Must obtain a New Mexico Department of Agriculture's Category 3A - Ornamental & Turf pests Certification & Category 7D - Wood Destroying Pest certification within 12 months of hire. Certifications must be maintained throughout employment.
E. Other (e.g., post-offer medical exam, polygraph, background check, driver's license record, etc.). Must pass pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Must maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with County policy. Must comply with the drug and alcohol Clearinghouse requirements in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
