Lead Eng Tech (Finance)



You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ.

In this role, you will impact the development and implementation of advanced technologies that drive aerospace innovation, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance in our products.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 2+ years of experience in metallurgical lab experience.

WE VALUE
  • At least 3 years experience in metallography including experience with optical microscopy, metallographic sample preparation, and hardness testing.
  • Understanding of standard analytical laboratory techniques and general metallographic principles, specimen preparation, etchant preparation and use.
  • Knowledge of and experience using hardness testers.
  • Demonstrated experience in optical microscopy.
  • Must be able to cope with high demand production critical environment
  • Awareness of safe laboratory practices, including proper procedures for handling, storage and disposal of strong acids, bases, volatile solvents, toxic chemicals; and an understanding of their hazards.
  • Must be able to interface with engineering personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing both conversational & technical English.
  • Customer focused. Must be able to interface with Honeywell Engineering customers and consistently meet customer requested turn times on all metallographic work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.

Position is primarily responsible for providing metallography and logistical support for Honeywell Aerospace. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Metallographic preparation and evaluation of samples
  • Photographic documentation and reporting in a logical manner
  • Recording and reporting of analysis results using Honeywell web-based LIMS software.
  • Daily communication with Lab management, coworkers and customers.
  • Compliance to ISO and Nadcap requirements by maintaining and following appropriate work instructions for materials testing laboratories
  • Procurement of laboratory supplies and consumables
  • Shipping/Receiving
  • Materials Engineering logistical support

Key Success Factors:
  • Learn the function, processes, and unique skills required to support Honeywell metallography needs.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and self-motivation for success in a busy, production critical lab which supports substantiation activity for aerospace parts.
