Key Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of construction equipment and machinery-such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and backhoes-efficiently and safely across different job sites.

• Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA safety regulations.

• Report issues or incidents promptly to supervisors or management.

• Adhere to daily assignments and project expectations from the Foreman.

• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and report major problems.

• Complete daily equipment inspections and required documentation.

• Help train less-experienced team members in equipment operation, servicing, and repair.

• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

• Carry out other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform all essential functions of the job to a satisfactory standard.

• High School diploma or GED preferred, but not mandatory.

• 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Requirements

• Minimum age: 18 years.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.

• Must comply with all company safety protocols and procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support co-workers and supervisors as needed.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license per state requirements (DL/CDL, Class A and/or B, with potential hazmat and tanker endorsements). A current DOT Medical Card is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Willingness to travel and work at remote job sites, including possible overnight stays.

• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as project demands arise.

• Required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face shields and safety (hard toe) shoes in designated areas, per OSHA/MSHA and company guidelines.

• Full compliance with OSHA and/or MSHA regulations is mandatory.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficient in operating heavy and complex construction equipment.

• Understanding of construction materials, methods, and tools.

• Awareness of hazards and safety measures related to equipment operation and construction sites.

• Familiarity with trenching and shoring standards.

• Ability to perform safe, skilled operation of equipment in varied and challenging conditions, exercising sound judgment.

• Competency in reading, writing, and basic math for record-keeping and understanding blueprints or job documents.

• Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions, and to communicate effectively.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers for control manipulation, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.

• May involve extended periods of sitting.

• Visual acuity (with correction) required for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, and focus adjustment.

• Capability to climb ladders and work at heights.

• Frequently able to move/carry objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted and occasionally up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Work Environment

• Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

• Potential exposure to moving machinery, high places, outdoor elements, and risks of electrical shock or burns.

• Noise levels may be moderate to loud, depending on the area.
