The Opportunity

  • Assist in training new Wound Care Technicians and Medical Assistants (MA) as assigned by the clinic manager.
  • Train team members to provide world-class service to all patients and their families.
  • Ensure that all Wound Care Technicians and Medical Assistants provide quality medical care and train them to continually improve performance and skill level.
  • Ensure that all staff are competent in their job responsibility through annual competency assessments.
  • Maintain a positive public relations image with peers, patients, and visitors by presenting a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Hold all team members to a high standard of performance.
  • Assist in completing weekly/monthly reports as assigned by the clinic manager or supervisor.
  • Manage patient flow, including assisting with the timely processing of all patients from check-in to check-out.
  • Assist with managing medical supply inventory.
  • Work to resolve conflicts among team members.
  • Assist with issues involving the medical office during office hours.
  • Inform the clinic manager of performance deficiencies to maintain updated staff performance evaluations.
  • Oversee that all state reports and logs are maintained.
  • Participate in and lead daily huddles.
  • Participate in weekly site team management calls.
  • Assist clinic manager/Supervisor/Ops manager with responding to social media reviews as requested.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic.
  • Bring facilities problems to the immediate attention of the clinic manager.
  • Apply knowledge of first aid procedures to assist the physician/advanced provider in the treatment of the patient, including changing dressings and applying bandages.
  • Provide accurate, legal, and ethical documentation when performing hands-on patient care.
  • Follow standards and procedures to maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • Follow equipment operating instructions to maintain proper operation and functioning; notify Medical Director of equipment malfunctions.
  • Clean and autoclave equipment daily.
  • Educate advanced providers on proper wound care techniques, including dressings, castings, negative-pressure sound therapy (NPWT), and compression.

Required Experience and Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Wound Care Technician or Medical Assistant required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Medical Assistant or Certified Emergency Medical Technician required.
  • Healthcare experience in an urgent care or primary care setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical compliance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, including educating them on proper documentation.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to uphold Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy regulations.
  • Ability to follow privacy policies regarding Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIPAA set forth in the Privacy Policy Manual.
  • Ability to report for assigned/confirmed shifts punctually and reliably.
  • Numerical aptitude.

Salary range for this role is $28.08 - $35.10 per hour. Please speak with a recruiter for more information.
