Sensors Application Specialist (Finance)
The Applications Specialist will be a key technical advisor for the mechanical offering in the US Gauge, GEMCO, and CATRAC product lines.
This position generates new business and ensures growth of existing accounts for Pressure and Factory Automation products by performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned:
Pressure and Factory Automation - Provide support for AMETEK's Pressure product lines, including US Gauge process gauges, M&G diaphragm seals, and PMT pneumatic controllers. Support Factory Automation lines, including: CATRAC cable and hose carriers, GEMCO rotary and position measurement equipment.
Product, Application, and Service Support - Provide technical advice and product specification. Understand and have experience with pressure and position measurement principles, applications, and equipment manufacturing. Field customer support as needed, such as application walkdown or training.
Build and Maintain Customer Relationships - Receive and respond to emails and phone calls within 24 hours of receipt. Introduce end users to contracted representatives/distributors where available. Provide expert applications and technical support to representatives/distributors.
Competitive/Industry Research - Promote ease of doing business by understanding competitor products and capabilities to supplement product crossover efforts.
RFQ/Large Projects - Identify quotable portions of incoming RFQs; support Applications Engineering portion of large project checklist. Review bid package for commercial requirements (Ex. Drawings, testing) and pass to Customer Service Representative as needed. Coordinate equipment and documentation responses and create formal quotation. Submit to Regional Sales Manager or customer directly.
Training - Determine training strategies by conducting needs assessments. Standardize training routines globally. Conduct training and train-the-trainer events as needed.
Selling Tools - Create and maintain internal and external selling tools and tech notes. training and marketing tools, such as AMETEK STC' YouTube channel, application notes, digital and printed literature, training slides and recorded webinars, user guides and instruction manuals.
Position Requirements:
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree from college or technical school preferred.
• 3+ years' hands-on technical sales and customer service experience required; experience with a manufacturer or manufacturer's representative preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
• Self-motivated, able to work with little supervision.
• Familiarity with technical drawings. Previous manufacturing or field service experience preferred.
• Flexible, able to adapt to changing design requirements and easily transition between projects to meet priority.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects
• Previous experience with ERP software (Oracle preferred); CRM software (Salesforce preferred).
