Job Description - Consultant, Global Transitions

This role is for Global Transitions team, which provides operational support in respect of New Business, TBAs (Transfers Between Account), Inspecie/Conversions, Restructures and other Transition related activities for both Domestic and Global clients on Fund master & IMS, ensuring that all the requests received are acted upon within the required timeframe and assisting the internal partner areas that are raising these requests. Support consulting services to internal partners who require guidance with technical issues related to the TBAs & Restructure events. Carry out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.

Summary

Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time), Consultant works as part of a large team or multiple locations responsible for ensuring all assignments completed by Associates and Associate Consultant are in accordance with policies, procedures and controls and meet service level standards in place.

The Position reports to the Team Leader of the NA Global Transitions team where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines and/or processes. Full ownership should be taken for one or more processes, reports and/or procedures. Analytically and procedurally competent, representing the team on cross-function process or project deliverables. Emerging as an expert in a specific skill set but remains focused primarily on daily execution of Global Transitions responsibilities.

Major Duties

  • Operates under general supervision but works independently most of the time.
  • Technically competent to act as first point of reference for day-to-day queries and serves as a liaison to related areas.
  • Have both broad and in-depth knowledge in process like Transfer Between Accounts, Onboarding/off boarding of clients assets , Conversions /Inspecie, Portfolio Restructure of client plus strong knowledge of related areas.
  • Responsible for monitoring the end-to-end restructure events
  • Ensuring the trades are monitored and worked if any issues with NT internal teams and Transition Manager to avoid any delay in settlement
  • Booking of FX Deals (Foreign exchange deals) for funding and repatriation of underlying trades
  • Good knowledge on the investment market and instruments like Equity, Bonds, FX and Derivatives
  • Proactive in addressing emails and analytical skills in resolving issues as team works in live market trading environment
  • Monitors cash payment & receipts received from external sub custodian and apply to the right client; In-depth knowledge of Web Cash Movement (WCM); Global Cash Movement (GCM) & Money Transfer System (MTS) is a must.
  • Carries out relatively complex, extensive, high-profile activities e.g. Transitions event planning with Middle Office team and Account managers/Client services team.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, consultative, communication and judgment skills
  • Lead the projects and/or train lower-level staff and take full ownership for more than 1 process at a time, reports and/or procedures.
  • Focuses on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures in the function, building towards becoming an area expert.
  • Running and creating formal KPI reports and involve in ad-hoc projects when necessary
  • Responsible for working on the exceptions management requests received from Controls team and ensuring that all the exceptions are narrated as per REMS & CASS standards.
  • Work closely with the Global Transitions team leader across the locations to ensure global consistency of activities.
  • Involvement in performing quality checks and internal audits as per requirement and drive risk management and control activities for the group
  • Assists client, partners and staff with complex problem resolution. Maintains technical knowledge on Global Transitions team activities and how the function relates to other areas within and outside the CTAS Division
  • Building effective working relationship with internal partners, off-shore partners, and external parties or with the clients to provide resolution to client issues and requests.
  • Able to facilitate discussions with internal and external parties and reach decisions through collaboration
  • Ability to handle client inquiries and discussions on the phone. Represent the Global Transitions processes and Team in such discussions/forums

Knowledge/Skills

  • Has in-depth knowledge of custody Transitions and market purchase & sale trades (RVP/DVP). In addition, firm understanding on settlement cycle and procedure of RVP/DVP trades and FX's across all markets globally.
  • Knowledge on the global markets and settlements platform like Euroclear, T2S, DTC/ FED is an added advantage.
  • Attention to detail, ability to perform stringent and exhaustive secondary review responsibilities, excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in demanding situations with time sensitive deadlines. And able to interpret complex process guidelines/handle exceptions while processing.

Experience Required
  • Consultants with 1 year of experience for lateral move
  • Transitions knowledge/experience in processing Trades and FXs is preferred.

Salary Range:
$66,700 - 113,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
